About Joe:

Joe Reaiche played 21 games for Easts (Roosters) as a winger from 1978 to 1980.

In 1981, Joe joined Canterbury to be a regular member of the reserve grade team before receiving the opportunity to play first grade against Western Suburbs as a replacement where he scored a try on debut.

Before playing with Steve Gearin at the Bulldogs, in 1977 he was Captain of the Lewisham club which won the MCC Championship – his vice captain was Steve Gearin’s brother, Greg Gearin.

In 1980 he then coached young Paul Gearin when he was the Sports Director at Lewisham High School.

“I could never have imagined playing with all the Gearin’s, Mortimer’s and Hughes’ brothers, all nine of them.” Reaiche said.
