Re: Pumpkins keep memory of Daniel Ethier alive, by Sharon Hill, Oct. 15.

On behalf of the Ethier family, I would like to thank all of The Windsor Star readers who dropped off a pumpkin to our home. We received a total of 272 this year.

It was an absolutely magical display seeing all of these pumpkins lit at night. Thanks for such a wonderful display of humanity in a sometimes crazy world.

We met so many of you. We heard your wonderful stories and were touched by your concern for us.

Yes, we do miss our son, Daniel, like you wouldn’t believe. That is the primary reason for Pumpkins for Daniel, to help all of us heal as we remember an amazing kid and his passion for Halloween.

A special thanks to those of you who brought a pumpkin in memory of your own children. May this memorial event also help you cope with your loss.

Although we are exhausted from the past two weeks, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Having you all here to celebrate the spirit of our loved ones was very comforting.

So, as we put this Halloween season behind us, we look forward to next year being an even bigger and better event. Thank you Windsor and Essex County.

Once again, you showed us what a wonderful community we live in.

ROCH ETHIER and Family, Windsor
